Leroy Whitfield, 44, died in a shooting that happened about 12:40 p.m., according to police and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. Police found Whitfield shot several times on East 124th Street and Superior Avenue. Officers administered first aid to Whitfield until paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead on the scene, police said.
Police later discovered that Whitfield was walking with another man and a woman on Frank Morgan Place when he was shot.The case is an open investigation.
