Hailey Adams pulls double duty for Clark
Under normal circumstances, Hailey Adams would have lined up in her usual spot as a central defender in Clark’s girls soccer showdown against Reagan on Monday.Adams, also a fourth-year starting guard for the Cougars’ basketball team, is preparing for the biggest hoops game of her life as Clark faces reigning 6A champion DeSoto in a UIL state semifinal set for 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Alamodome.
Adams headed to Blossom Soccer Fields immediately after basketball practice and arrived at Monday’s game about 20 minutes before kickoff. Adams last played two games on the same day on Feb. 22 when she darted out the locker room at Northside Gym following the Cougars’ 62-52 third-round playoff victory against Johnson. She headed to Blossom and played the second half of the Cougars’ soccer match against Johnson, which resulted in a 2-2 draw.

“Hailey is probably the most important person on this team,” sophomore guard Natalie Huff said. “She’s there for us, no matter what. She gets us in the right spots. She knows where everyone is supposed to go. She’s like our team mom. She’s loves us all and takes care of us.”
