Yet even as we begin to shift our attention, Uvalde feels different. It feels as if it won’t allow us to completely turn away and forget. Not when the pain is this deep and raw, not when there remains too many unanswered questions as officials use the families of the victims to hide and deflect accountability.Other mass shootings have shaken us to grief and anger.
