A paediatrician reviewed baby death cases and found some premature newborns screaming in pain for 30 minutes
Evil serial killer Lucy Letby was locked up thanks to evidence from an expert brought in to review infant mortalities spotted a chilling detail in x-rays.
Neonatal nurse Letby was convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill six others at the hospital. She will spent the rest of her life behind bars. Her trial heard how the babies suffered heart attacks after Letby injected air into their bloodstream or stomach. Dr Brohin found some babies had been left screaming for 30 minutes telling the Sunday Times this could only be the result of them experiencing extreme pain.
“What was described on the ward was babies screaming for up to 30 minutes. Now that is just unheard of. Somebody had done something to cause those babies extreme pain.”
