C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, says it has reached 100% capacity due to a surge of pediatric patients with RSV.

"We have never seen a surge in pediatric respiratory viruses like this before," Luanne Thomas Ewald, chief operating officer at Mott Children's Hospital, said in a statement. "Our hospital is 100% full. This is incredibly concerning because we haven't even seen the full impact of flu season yet."due to a high number of RSV cases., weekly RSV cases nationwide have risen from 5,872 the week ending Oct. 1 to 8,597 the week ending Nov. 5.
To ease the burden on emergency room staff, doctors are asking parents to call their children's primary care physician first to determine whether they need such treatment.
