The brand's transition to a mostly-electric lineup is in full swing with the sleek-looking electric Chevy Blazer.

Chevrolet’s transition to a mostly-electric lineup is well under way. GM’s GM mass-market brand already has the Bolt brothers – the smaller Bolt EV and larger Bolt EUV—in showrooms today. It will bring its first electric truck, the Silverado EV, to the sales floor next. A pair of battery-powered SUVs will follow.Meet the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV The 2024... Chevrolet’s transition to a mostly-electric lineup is well under way.

An earlier teaser tells us that’s the flap that hides the plug. We assume there’s a similar dummy structure on the other side to keep the look symmetrical. Head-on, it shares obvious genes with the Silverado EV. A full-width LED bar connects the needle-thin headlights, fronted by a backlit Chevy bow tie. But there’s a lot going on in its profile, with busy character lines, that oversize plug flap, and a long greenhouse with a riot of pillars that look almost like a fractal drawing.

The look will probably work well for some buyers and not for others. Press reactions have already been divisive.Questions remain…until July But there’s little else to talk about yet. GM promises a fuller reveal on July 18, including mechanical details. For now, we can deduce that it rides on the same Ultium battery platform as GM’s other EVs, including the new Cadillac LYRIQ and GMC Hummer.

The company has said the Blazer EV will have a sporty SS version. It’s being developed alongside the smaller Equinox EV. GM has promised a price around $30,000 for the smaller of the two, which could push the Blazer’s sticker price closer to the $40,000 range. There, it would compete with the Ford F Mustang Mach-E, Volkswagen ID.4, and other midsize electrics.
