OSCR – the Scottish regulator of registered charities – said it will look into the proposals for a wellbeing centre in Ferguslie Park.
One of Scotland’s biggest social enterprises is to be looked into by the charity regulator following its failed bid to secure more than £2 million of public funds.
But that application – submitted in partnership with Renfrewshire Council in June 2022 – has since been found to include a number of substantive inaccuracies; specifically that St Mirren FC Charitable Foundation was aware of the submission of the application and, further, that the sale of land was progressing.

There is also a dedicated St Mirren section that will follow every kick of the ball with the Buddies. But the organisation has refused, when asked, to identify the correct area for which the sale had been agreed.
“Some of these may be exercised by OSCR and some longer-term measures are exercised by the Court of Session on application by OSCR.”
