As audiences continue to feel the star's absence, Chadwick Boseman's family is sharing their reaction to the star's posthumous Emmy nomination for What If....?. Boseman made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: Civil War as T'Challa, the heir to the kingdom of Wakanda who is thrust into leadership following his father's death in the film.
Boseman would make his final live-action appearance as T'Challa in Avengers: Endgame before dying of colon cancer in mid-2020, putting development on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in turnaround as Marvel and writer/director Ryan Coogler determining a new path for the character without recasting or using body doubles. Prior to his passing, Boseman completed work on Disney+'s What If...
