Glasgow City Council had to pay tens of thousands of pounds to clean the streets, repair damaged traffic lights and cover extra staffing costs after the celebrations.
Glasgow’s cash-strapped council was left with a bill of over £34,000 following title celebrations by Celtic fans earlier this year.
Council staff had to work through the night to clean the streets and repair damage to infrastructure caused by the supporters. Three people were seriously assaulted in three separate incidents and 18 others sustained minor injuries mainly due to intoxication.
