The candidates vying to replace Rep. Chris Stewart in Congress will face off in a debate Thursday evening just weeks ahead of the special election in November.
Republican nominee Celeste Maloy and Democrat Kathleen Riebe will meet in a live debate broadcast from the University of Utah.
A former staffer of Stewart's, Maloy considered herself a dark horse to become the GOP nominee with a chance at representing Utah's 2nd Congressional District. However, last month, she went on to defeat former state Rep. Becky Edwards and businessman Bruce Hough in a primary.The winner of the Nov. 21 election will become only the fifth woman to represent Utah in Congress.
