Miami starter Nick Neidert retired his first seven batters before McNeil connected in the third. Tomás Nido and Brandon Nimmo followed with consecutive singles, and Lindor's two-out RBI single made it 2-0. "I thought it was going to be the next inning," McNeil said of the extended silence."It lasted a few pitches, but a good celebration."
Promoted from Triple-A Jacksonville earlier in the day, Neidert allowed two runs, five hits and struck out three in five innings.
