Caroline Polachek said she still does her own makeup before each performance. “It’s this special moment where no one bothers me,” the singer and songwriter said.
Caroline Polachek, a musician whose experimental pop has drawn comparisons to Kate Bush and Imogen Heap, is currently on tour promoting her fourth studio album, “Desire, I Want to Turn Into You.” After years of playing smaller venues and writing for Beyoncé, she’s now taking center stage at the Ryman Auditorium and Radio City Music Hall.
“I have to be completely honest, once the music starts, I kind of forget where I am in terms of the spaces,” the 37-year-old singer said. “It becomes so much more about the energy that the crowd itself is giving to me.”
