With a Series B funding round of $70 million, Carl Pei's Nothing is preparing to expand with a new Design Hub and new products during 2022.
announce a Series B funding round of $70 million, along with details on a new event where the company will talk more about its future product strategy.The funding is earmarked for two areas. The first is to “grow operations at [Nothing’s] new London Design hub. The second is to “create new product categories in partnership with Qualcomm Technologies and its SnapDragon platform."
To date, Nothing has released a single consumer product, the eponymous Nothing Ear wireless earbuds. With a reported 400,000 unit sales,as well with reviewers noting the price point, audio quality, and design, What comes next will be the subject of the upcoming event. Understatdely called ‘The Truth’, it takes place on March 23rd where the Nothing team will discuss the funding, a community turning round, and the 2022 roadmap.
While there has been no indication of what comes next from Nothing, given Carl Pei’s background with smartphone manufacturers , many are expecting Nothing to make the jump to a mobile device sooner rather than later.
