ICYMI: Car torched outside troubled former Bothwell restaurant as police probe underway.
Police have launched an investigation after a car was torched outside a troubled former upmarket Bothwell restaurant.
The fire had spread from the car to the exterior of the building, causing minor damage. Thankfully no-one was injured.It comes after a series of incidents at the restaurant eventually led owner Vincent Marini to shut up shop in October 2019. He previously claimed there had been a "targeted campaign" and a "sustained effort" to drive him out of business.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Daily Record: "Around 12.20am, a fire was reported in a car parked on Ferry Road at Main Street, Bothwell. The vehicle was extensively damaged and a nearby restaurant sustained minor damage.
