The push for Congress to take action comes a day after President Biden announced his goal of cutting cancer-related deaths in half over the next 25 years.
Grant said she’s optimistic where the steps of her journey will lead.
“Eventually, there will be a cure for cancer,” said Grant. “It’s going to take a lot of research. But like I said, we’ve made a lot of progress and it’s coming along.”The group estimates between 1991 and 2019, around 3.5 million deaths were prevented because of progress in cancer research.
