Stanning a politician? In this (or any) economy?
. When these criticisms are brought up among peers, they’re often met with sheepish shrugs or rebuttals about the importance of not demeaning the good work Obama did do. All too often, it’s dismissed as just a check in Obama’s “Labeling a major policy misstep as simply “problematic” undermines the realities of people who have to live — or die — because of lawmakers’ choices.
At the end of the day, elected officials are human beings. The perfect politician does not exist. Let’s support those we feel best represent our interests, giving them room for error but holding them accountable for decisions that cause harm. Stanning, as we’ve seen, won’t get us very far.
