It comes seven years after Helen and Jack Ashton met on set
Call The Midwife actress Helen George has reportedly split from her partner Jack Ashton. The celebrity couple were together for seven years after meeting on the set of on Call the Midwife and have two young daughters.
Helen, 38, who has played Trixie Franklin in Call the Midwife since 2012 and starred in Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 when she was partnered with professional dancer Aljaž Skorjanec, issued a statement in which she confirmed the couple had split. Helen said: “Some months ago, we separated. Our two beautiful girls remain the focus and I respectfully ask for privacy for this next chapter," The Mirror reports. The couple's daughter Wren was born in 2017, followed by Lark in 2021.Jack, 36, joined Call The Midwife in 2014 as vicar Tom Hereward.
Jack's character proposed to Trixie on the show but she ended the relationship. The pair fell for each other in real life after travelling to South Africa to film the show’s 2016 Christmas Special. Helen recently starred as governess Anna in a West End production of The King and I. While Jack is now appearing in TV school drama Waterloo Road. He plays Lenny Sampson, a reformed ex-convict involved in a knife crime initiative.
