Call of Duty fans are flocking back to classic games as the servers see a revival ModernWarfare2 ModernWarfare BlackOps
, the next entry in the series and the recent FTC vs Microsoft trial, players have been flocking back to classic Call of Duty games such as the original Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops.
While some of the servers have been somewhat playable in the past it appears now that the multiplayer servers for classic Call of Duty games are running a lot smoother. Activision or Microsoft haven’t made any formal announcement surrounding why the servers have picked up recently. Regardless of why they’ve had a resurgence recently, it’s definitely a good time to be a classic Call of Duty fan, especially if you love the original Zombies mode, which was noticeably absent from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 . You may still run into the occasional hacker on these servers but given the age of some of the older Call of Duty games, this is to be expected.
If you’ve managed to keep your physical copies of any of these classic games over the last few years then you’re in luck. You’ll be able to play most of these games on Xbox Series X via backwards compatibility. However, if you’re on Xbox Series S not all hope is lost, as the Call of Duty games are currently on sale at a big discount on the Xbox Store.
