A package of cuts was agreed on Wednesday to help plug a £36m gap for 2024/25, but the shortfall forecast for the following two years is around £80m.
Health and social care chiefs in Glasgow are calling for extra funding as they face a budget deficit of £116m over the next three years.
The board passed a motion, presented by Cllr Jon Molyneux, Greens, which urged both the UK and Scottish Governments to provide more funding. He will urge them to provide additional funding and to “reject tax and spend decisions which reduce funding for public services”. Officials said the IJB has agreed to a “service reset” which will “identify the services which are sustainable both in terms of meeting the demands of the population of Glasgow City but also be sustainable within the financial envelope which is available”.
