California logistics firm Flexport is leasing a big block of offices in the Galleria Towers in North Dallas.
A year ago, top Amazon executive Dave Clark joined Flexport and is now the CEO. Clark, who lives in North Texas, was previously CEO of Amazon’s worldwide consumer division.Earlier this year, Clark was joined at Flexport by Teresa Carlson, former vice president at Amazon Web Services, which has a large operation in North Dallas.
Flexport is taking offices on four floors in the Galleria Towers on LBJ Freeway at Noel Road, according to planning documents filed with the state. The space totals more than 50,000 square feet – enough to house hundreds of workers. The new offices are scheduled to be completed later this year in the same office complex where Amazon Web Services houses its workers. Flexport is advertising what it describes as “a brand new office location” in Dallas.Chicago-based Huntsman Architectural Group is designing the $6.7 million project, according to details given to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
