A week after Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico said he won’t seek reelection, business executive and civic leader Scott Wehrli has launched his bid for mayor in Illinois' fourth largest city.
Lifelong Naperville resident and businessman Scott Wehrli is running for mayor of the west suburb in the April 4, 2023, consolidated election.
The 53-year-old lifelong Naperville resident said he plans to bring his experiences as a job creator, construction executive, finance leader, police officer and trustee of nonprofit organizations to the Naperville City Council to craft policies that strengthen the community.
He is pledging to set aside partisan political division so the city can stay focused on policies to improve neighborhoods and quality of life. Mary Lou Wehrli was elected to the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County and Naperville Park District, and Grant Wehrli represented the 41st District in the state House after serving on the Naperville City Council.“I believe in paying it forward, helping others and challenging myself to learn something and teach something every day. I care about the right policy for Naperville, not the sport of political theater,” he said.
