British Airways passengers will be given free food and drink on short haul flights again after the airline’s boss admitted scrapping the perks was a mistake.

There was outrage among some BA customers six years ago when complimentary food disappeared from flights to save £400 million.Freebies were brought back temporarily as a gesture of goodwill for those travelling during the pandemic. In an open letter, he wrote: ‘You’ve also told us you appreciate the complimentary water and snacks we’ve been offering on short-haul flights in our Euro Traveller cabin, so we’ll be continuing with these too.’
