Glen Kamara made his first start for Leeds United since his summer move from Rangers in the home victory over Watford and Michael Bridges has given his verdict on the battle to start in midfield
Michael Bridges insists Glen Kamara has not joined Leeds United to 'make the numbers up' after the summer signing made his first start in the home victory over Watford. The former Rangers star replaced academy graduate Archie Gray in the starting eleven on Saturday, with goals from Jaidon Anthony, Sam Byram and Joel Piroe easing the hosts to a 3-0 victory on Saturday.
He told Leeds United's Matchday Live: "Today is the day and I feel for Archie Gray. Don't get us wrong, he's been very, very good and he's playing his part."You do not want to wear the kid out. There's a lot of games, they come thick and fast in the Championship. He's been a very good player, I think the way he's settled in alongside Ampadu has been special.
Speaking prior to kick-off, Bridges added: "It's another chance for Kamara to come in and get his opportunity. If it's anything to go by when I've seen players in the recent matches we've had where they've waited for that opportunity and they've taken it...Kamara has got to come in because he knows if he's having a dodgy game, he's going to be replaced."
