Five hours after her wedding, the bride was killed when the golf cart in which she was leaving her reception was struck by a car.
The car’s driver was allegedly drunk and going 65 mph in a 25-mph zone, say police in Folly Beach, South Carolina. The crash tossed the cart more than 100 yards, the groom’s mother, Annette Hutchison, wrote in a GoFundMe post that was verified by CNN. It rolled over several times and was “quite mangled,” according to Chief Andrew Gilreath, the public safety director for Folly Beach.
The cart’s two other passengers — identified as the couple’s nephew and brother-in-law — were also injured.
