Several people were injured in the display on Friday night A five-year-old boy was struck in the face by a firework after a rocket misfired into a crowd. Emma Redley, 40, says her young son Rocco was left ‘traumatised’ by the incident on Friday night at Stone Swynnerton Park Cricket Club in Staffordshire. The boy was left bleeding from his chin and it’s believed at least six others were also injured.
’ Ms Redley and Rocco were two of some 3,000 attendees at the local firework display. It’s thought other children were among those injured. Emma said: ‘It was so, so scary seeing a firework shoot into the crowd – aiming straight for my son. The firework veered off course into the crowd ‘I saw him jolt then start screaming and grabbing his chin – I ran him to the first aid tent.
