Late Dallas billionaire T. Boone Pickens’ sprawling West Texas ranch has sold.A group of buyers headed by West Texas oil-and-gas investor Bill Kent completed the purchase of the 36,000-plus-acre western side of the ranch this week, which includes the 25,000-square-foot lodge where Pickens entertained guests.
Financial terms of the sales were not disclosed, but “proceeds of the two transactions were within about 10% of the $170 million asking price,” according to Jay Rosser, vice president of public affairs at BP Capital and a longtime associate of Pickens. Pickens began acquiring the property in 1971 with a 2,926-acre purchase along the south side of the Canadian River.

S. Middleton and Son and Monte Lyons of Hall and Hall handled the sale.
