A bomb squad was deployed to the Palo Alto Police Department station on Tuesday afternoon a civilian brought munitions to authorities for destruction.
The PAPD announced just before 1:25 p.m. that Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office bomb squad units were responding to the station located at 275 Forest Ave. after a person"brought in a couple of old Vietnam War-era grenades, as well as ammunition, for disposal." — Palo Alto Police April 18, 2023 Bomb squad units and Palo Alto police were later able to determine the grenades were inert"training grenades" which posed no danger to the public, the department reported about 1:35 p.m.
