Police said a Bolingbrook man was killed Saturday morning when the SUV he was driving went into pole at Plainfield/Naperville Road and Gateshead Drive in Naperville.
The incident occurred about 8:15 a.m., and debris from the crash damaged two other vehicles, a police report said.The 57-year-old driver, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban south on Plainfield/Naperville Road near Leverenz Road when he left the roadway near Gateshead Drive and struck the pole. Despite the damage from the flying debris, no one else was injured, the report said.Accident reconstruction required both sides of Plainfield/Naperville Road to be closed at the intersection until about 1 p.m.
