The EastEnders star Bobby Brazier won the Best Rising Star award at the NTA Awards for his role as Freddie Slater on the BBC One soap.
Bobby Brazier has shared that he wanted to 'cry' and 'run to his dad' after he won the huge gong at the National Television Awards on Tuesday night.
As he collected the coveted gong, the camera's panned to Bobby's dad Jeff who could be seen sobbing with pride as his son delivered a poignant acceptance speech. As he sobbed, EastEnders star Molly Rainford comforted him with a hug. As he opened up about who has been his biggest mentor on the set of the soap, Bobby revealed his close bond with Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater on the BBC One soap.
Another added: " Bobby Brazier is such a charming young guy & deserves all the success in the world. Jeff is such a great dad too," as someone else wrote: "Jeff Brazier watching his son accept an NTA has made me absolutely sob." The Big Brother star died in 2009 after battling cervical cancer when Bobby was five and his brother Freddie, 18, was just four.
"I remember being told you live vicariously through your kids, I guess most parents do. When they start to achieve from a career point of view, it's special. He's made a mark and now he gets to have another very different experience."
