It's just sat there crumbling and they're not allowed to demolish it
On the corner of Waterloo Road and Bond street lies 'an eyesore'. Once a glittering retail unit, home to one of the biggest chains in the UK, the former Woolworths in South Shore, Blackpool, is a shell of it's former self.
Now, the building is called a danger by locals, with many desperate for something to be done with the dilapidated store. LancsLive photos taken this week show the inside of the former bustling superstore.Elain Summersgill owns a business on Bond Street. She previously told LancsLive that she felt that the protected building had become an eyesore. She said: "They've let this street go right downhill. Just look at the Christmas shop at the end , that's become a right eyesore.
The fate of the building lies in the balance, but as more time passes, the more it falls apart. Pictures show the former retail store to be missing a huge section of flooring, as well as broken glass, graffiti, missing ceiling tiles and mountains of debris.
