Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone passes another hurdle as Michael Gove gives it the official go-ahead
Multi-million pound development at the Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone has passed another hurdle after the Government said it would not be calling in the scheme for further planning scrutiny.
The letter says: “The Secretary of State has decided not to call in this application. He is content that it should be determined by the local planning authority.” The council’s planning committee approved outline proposals for new business and industrial units, a multi-purpose local hub and a new eastern gateway access road off Common Edge Road in October last year.
Investment will kickstart the third phase of development at the enterprise zone. It includes the reconfiguration of Common Edge Road and changes to the junction at School Road to create an access road which will meet up with Amy Johnson Way.
