In its second weekend at the domestic box office, Black Adam has already passed the $100 million mark. Black Adam is the latest DCEU film to release, opening on October 21. The film, which reunites star Dwayne Johnson with Jungle Cruise director Jaume Collet-Serra, follows the origin story of the titular antihero, a former slave from Kahndaq who is given godlike powers and released from imprisonment after 5,000 years.

This was the best opening weekend for any film in the franchise since Aquaman in 2018. It was also the best box office opening weekend for any film with The Rock in the lead.Per Variety, Black Adam has taken in an additional $27.7 million this weekend, bringing its domestic total to $111 million.
How Black Adam Is Performing Compared to Other Recent DCEU Films After Aquaman's strong opening, it went on to make over $1 billion worldwide, a path that Black Adam could potentially follow. However, it still has a long way to go in order to make that happen.
Aquaman also took two weeks to cross $100 million, but it needed an extra boost from the long Christmas weekend, meaning that Black Adam could potentially be on track to outpace that film's record performance. One other boost is the fact that the only wide release competition next weekend is the less buzzy Armageddon Time, allowing the film an easy path to another #1 weekend.
