Carl Stewart of the Birmingham theater scene has passed away.
The theater great had been at the helm of every at the theater company for 30 years.
That year, Terrific New Theatre lauded Stewart as its “chief creative genius” and sang the thespian’s praises for his welcoming nature and all aspects of his creativity. Stewart embraced all roles as the company’s creative director, often designing and distributing homemade paper tickets to patrons from the box office.
Fans and friends of Stewart’s creative work left memories and tributes to the late creative director under Terrific New Theatre’s Facebook post, describing as a wonderful teacher and mentor, as well as one of the best in the business.
