The arrest happened Wednesday afternoon.
Birmingham police today released body cam footage from the arrest of a man Wednesday accused of spitting on people, including an officer.
In a news release, police said the incident began at about 12:55 p.m. in Underwood Park, at 2621 10th Ave. S. As they approached Williams, he fled from the officers on foot. At this point, the other two officers at the park drove to the 2300 Block of 10th Avenue South where they saw Williams walking. The officer took Williams to the ground and “delivered multiple closed fist strikes” before handcuffing him, police said.
