We all know the Fyre Festival for being well... terrible 🙃 But now the co-founder Billy McFarland has announced he was to revive the controversial festival.
Ultimately creating a disaster, the 31-year-old pleaded guilty to multiple counts of fraud for the original Fyre Festival and was released from prison last year.Billy served time in prison following his last attempt at the event
Twitter users were quick to respond to the message with one penning: ‘tell me why you shouldn’t be in jail’, to which he quipped back: ‘It’s in the best interest of those I owe for me to be working. ‘People aren’t getting paid back if I sit on the couch and watch TV. And because I served my time [sic]’.
Andy King – a producer of the original festival and star of Netflix documentary Fyre – reposted the tweet in apparent support of the idea: ‘FYRE Festival 2.0. Who’s in?? Let’s go [sic]’. Another user poked fun at the founder and the film that documented his demise: ‘If you need any help with planning, there’s a great documentary on this!’
