President Joe Biden predicted Friday that Gaza will begin receiving humanitarian aid through the Rafah crossing this weekend.

His comments came after brokering a deal with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi earlier this week to open their side of the border for one-way travel into Gaza."I got a commitment from the Israelis and the president of Egypt that the crossing will be open," Biden told reporters Friday during a trilateral meeting at the White House with European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen."Highway had to be repaved.

Biden previously stated that, initially, 20 trucks of humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza would be allowed through the Rafah gate, with future shipments under potential consideration. The president added that the deal would be void in the event that Hamas terrorists seized any of the aid.
