President JoeBiden retests positive for COVID-19 in 'rebound' infection
Biden has no symptoms and continues to feel"quite well," White House physician Kevin O'Connor wrote in a note Saturday."After testing negative on Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning, and Friday morning, the president tested positive late Saturday morning by antigen testing," he said."This in fact represents 'rebound' positivity.""Hey folks, Joe Biden here. Tested positive this morning.
The president also sent a pizza delivery to veterans protesting outside Capitol Hill Saturday according to Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough, who personally delivered the boxes. Veterans plan to camp outside until the Senate passes the PACT Act, legislation that would provide more funding for veterans affected by burn pits.
The White House had hoped to get Biden, 79, back out on the road quickly after he had been forced to cancel travel to Pennsylvania and Florida following his diagnosis. Biden worked throughout his isolation period, appearing unmasked on the Truman Balcony in a video filmed the same day as his positive test. Subsequent tweets and virtual appearances were intended to show the president working in his office.
