Bernardo Heights Middle School in Rancho Bernardo was placed on lockdown Wednesday after police received a call about an active shooter, but the report appeared to be unfounded, authorities said.
Poway Unified School District officials said in a statement that the school was placed on lockdown “in an abundance of caution” as police investigated a “threat.”San Diego police Officer Sarah Foster said school police received a call about an active shooter on the campus, and that the incident was being investigated as an unfounded threat.
