Leopold told the Gophers that his friends from his college teams are the closest he has in his life, with his NHL teammates more acquaintances. Then he offered a message he included in a text to Knies during Frozen Four week.Motzko isn’t one to make grandiose speeches just because it’s the Frozen Four.
Assistant coach Steve Miller sat in front of his computer and a projection screen. Miller, nicknamed “Killer,” has been around Motzko for 30 years. He’s been on the staff of three national title teams .On Wednesday, Miller broke down the Terriers’ forecheck, faceoff plays and transition game. Drawing in red, he showed how important it was for the weakside forward to get back off the rush. He showed how the Terriers’ goalie could be overaggressive.
