Software nasty used to cause hundreds of millions of dollars in damages, cops say
If you've been hit by the LockerGoga ransomware, an international law enforcement effort has publicly released a tool to fix the problem.that shut down the Norwegian power and metals giant's global network for a week and cost the company over $100m, not to mention the knock-on effects further down the supply chain.
The alleged perpetrator was arrested by Swiss authorities in October 2021 on suspicion of money laundering and data corruption. His arrest was part of a larger Europol- and European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation
