Becton Dickinson & Co. , which operates under the name BD, said Monday it'll pay $1.525 billion to acquire pharmacy automation software company Parata Systems from private equity firm Frazier Healthcare Partners. Franklin Lakes, N.J.-based BD said the deal gives it access to the estimated $600 million pharmacy automation market, which is expected to grow about 10% per year over the next decade. BD CEO Tom Polen led the transaction, along with Bob Kill, CEO of Parata.
