El Camino Real and Verdugo Hills girls basketball lifted City Section crowns Saturday afternoon.
“That shot was huge,” El Camino Real coach Rai Colston said.“It feels nice to beat your old time, especially after you transfer, but props to them for making it to the final. But we won,” Quintana said with a grin.
Grace Marot led El Camino Real with 16 points and Quintana finished with 11 points. Taft’s Faith Gibbs led the Toreadors with 12 points and junior Evelyn Birau added 11. Freshman Addison Keenan is the name to remember for Taft, she scored nine points.The Verdugo Hills girls basketball team claimed its third straight City title with a 53-43 victory in the Division II final over Chatsworth thanks to 26 points from junior Nicole Vanegas.
