Charles Deel, 26, was found guilty of murder and felonious assault, both with gun specifications. Deel previously pleaded guilty to having a weapon under disability. On July 30, 2020, Woody Cisterna was at a home on Kenmore Boulevard in Akron to pick up some personal belongings. Deel also was at the home, working on his vehicle, prosecutors say.
Witnesses say they heard gunshots, saw Cisterna lying on the ground and then saw Deel speed away in his vehicle. The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task ForceSummit County Common Pleas Court Judge Joy Malek Oldfield will sentence Deel on June 10.
