Authorities on northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast patrolled area waters and beaches vigilantly Saturday in the wake of Friday’s shark attacks that injured three people.
The attacks prompted authorities to close the beaches in Walton County Friday, but they reopened Saturday.
Officials said hammerhead sharks are common in Gulf Coast waters. Officials said they were looking for a bull shark as the likely culprit in Friday’s attacks.
