A search team in San Luis Obispo County resumed looked for 5-year-old Kyle Doan after he was swept away by floodwaters near Paso Robles.

5-year-old boy who was swept away by floodwatersAuthorities and family are holding out hope that Kyle Doan, a kindergartener at Lillian Larsen Elementary School in San Miguel, can be found after he went missing Monday.

The search for the boy, who has not been declared dead, was called off around 3 p.m. Monday because the current and rising water levels of the Salinas River were too dangerous for divers, said spokesperson Tony Cipolla of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.
