In a TikTok that has been viewed 3.3 million times, DeLoretto-Chudy said she was pulled into a"check-in meeting" with administrators. She said administrators shared a list of concerns with her, which included teaching students about their"legal and constitutional rights." Also listed among Austin ISD's concerns was failing to respond to emails in a timely manner and engaging students in a book study on Harry Potter., DeLoretto-Chudy said the school's assistant principal"didn't buy it" when she explained to them that the students made the decision to protest the pledge on their own. This prompted her to express her concerns about the situation on TikTok.
