Austin Psych Fest 2023 gets back to its roots
an international collection of indie rock and dream pop artists under the stars in the land of the cosmic cowboy.
Austin Psych Fest 2023 runs April 28-30 at the aptly named Far Out Lounge. Headliners include the Black Angels, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Cuco, Tori Y Moi and Yves Tumor.Billed as what event co-founder Rob Fitzpatrick calls “a little bit of a weird underground party,” Psych Fest promises plenty of notable indie names and up-and-comers at the site of the first festival, which Austin psych rockers the Black Angels helped launched at the Far Out Lounge in 2008.
Attendees can tune in and drop out to a two-stage lineup at the outdoor venue, which will bask in the industrial lava lamp glow of the Mad Alchemy Light Show along with other Austin visual artists. The event is co-produced by Austin-based Resound Presents. Also known as Levitation, Austin Psych Fest has hosted scads of indie artists over the years, including contemporary breakouts such as Japanese Breakfast and Tame Impala as well as classic alternative acts like Echo and the Bunnymen and the Jesus and Mary Chain.
Austin Psych Fest single-day tickets are $75 for general admission and $165 for VIP, with three-day passes at $195 for general admission and $475 for VIP.
