At least 5 killed, 18 injured in shooting at LGBTQ club in Colorado Springs, police say
Club Q, where police said the first call about a shooting came in around midnight, thanked “the quick reactions of heroic customers that subdued the gunman and ended this hate attack.”in a statement on its Facebook page, which had posted about a Sunday drag brunch hours earlier.
Police said several officers and medical personnel immediately responded to reports of the shooting, entered the club and “located one individual believed to be the suspect inside.” It was not clear whether the suspect was one of the 18 injured. Castro told reporters the casualty toll “is subject to change as the investigation continues,” adding that ambulances and police had transported “numerous people" to hospitals.
