It's awards time in the ASUN Conference, and these two JAX_Dolphins coaches will be receiving some trophies.
Calvin RidleyBurchard recorded JU's first walk-off hit since Coipel delivered on March 8, 2020, with a single to scorein a 2-1 victory over VMI. It was the Dolphins' second-to-last game before the rest of the season was canceled because of the pandemic.
The top-three teams in each division qualify for the tournament, with two more teams determined based first on head-to-head meetings, record vs. common ASUN opponents and finally the NCAA RPI. UNF has the inside track on the second seed but both Central Arkansas and Jacksonville State could catch the Ospreys for that spot and knock them down to a third seed. Those two teams play a three-game series at Central Arkansas beginning on Friday with the West division title at stake.
Central Arkansas, Jacksonville State and North Alabama have clinched spots in the tournament based on their finish in the ASUN West. But behind Liberty and UNF, there is a three-way tie among Jacksonville, Kennesaw and Stetson at 9-12, and Eastern Kentucky and Lipscomb are also still in the mix.
