TORONTO — Dusty Baker dared Toronto to tee off. The Blue Jays pummeled his starting pitcher across four frenetic innings, but Baker sent him back for a fifth. “Those guys can hit. They don’t quit,” Baker said of the Blue Jays. “You look at some of their games, they can play from behind. They’ve done that for a couple years now. They inch away and then they blast one, blast another and, next thing you know, they’re back in the game.” Toronto had two first-inning outs hit harder than 102 mph. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. started the second with a flyout at 101.6 mph. Matt Chapman struck a 108.9 mph single in that same frame and scored on Raimel Tapia’s tough-luck double down the left-field line.
